Hello and Welcome!
Room Décor - Using the Ceiling!
What wonderful friends this man had to take him to Jesus!
Little did he know his sins were going to be forgiven as well!
Jesus is truly AMAZING!
Here I am making a visual aid to use to portray the hole in the roof and the man’s 4 friends looking down inside the room where Jesus was talking.
This particular visual aid is made of 3 pieces of bulletin board paper.
One blue, one white, and one brown all the same size.
1. Take the brown paper and draw what looks like a jagged hole highlighting the edges of the hole with a black sharpie marker. The hole in the roof needs to be made smaller than the white paper.
2. Cut the outside edge of the "hole" only.
3. Without cutting the inside of the "hole" yet, glue this brown piece with the cut outside edges onto the top of a white piece of bulletin board paper. (Be sure to glue the area of the jagged edge well for the brown center will end up being cut out.) This white paper is supposed to look like the ceiling of the house. I could have made the ceiling brown as well but thought a contrasting color would make the hole stand out best.
4. When cutting out the center of the brown paper along the inside edge that has been glued on top of the white paper, you are actually cutting the 2 layers - white with the brown. This cutting will make the hole in the roof.
5. Glue blue paper to the back of the white paper. This will be the sky that shows through the hole in the roof.
6. Trim the visual aid edge all the way around so it is nice and neat looking.
7. Cut a few clouds from white paper and glue them to the front of the blue paper so you can see them in the sky through the roof.
8. Print the friends' faces at the Gold Star below! Glue them onto the blue paper close to the edge of the roof hole.
9. Before punching holes for hanging into the visual aid edge, reinforce each hole placement with clear packing tape on the back, then punch hole.
10. Use fishing line or heavy string to hang.
(See how to hang visual aids from a suspended ceiling here.)
