His Amazing Creation

Hello and Welcome!

Genesis 8:22
"While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest,
and cold and heat, and summer and winter,
and day and night shall not cease.

Nighttime.
Thunder...lightening...rain...

clouds clear... morning sunshine streams through...

Fresh air, moist lush green. Tree buds popping open.
Some flowering while others have a green haze upon their branches.
Ah, the evidence...spring.

As I watched several birds bathe in the puddles in our yard...

and a frisky squirrel on the tree jumping to the fence and back...

I commented to my husband how our back yard seems to be teaming with it.

Life!

It's all around us.

Even our porch has been claimed by a family of sparrows who make their nest near our door. I hear their happy chirping as I walk by the open windows.
Joy.

After the winter months of chill, I think every one of us welcomes the spring.

Getting out this time of year to see plant life poking up to say, "Hello" gives me a surge of excitement.

I love perennials.
You can pretty much count on them.
But then I'm always taken in by all those annuals for sale.
Oh the vibrant color!
How can one resist?

So thankful to God for seasons and color!

As I walked around the outside of our house I found that every one of my red begonias had sprouted. They came back! What a sweet surprise.
I imagine them full of color.

My Grandma loved begonias.
She showed me how you could take a cutting, put it in water and it over a period of time produce roots. In the right temperatures, she could just stick it in the ground and it would take root.

God's wonderful design.
If it has design it must have a Designer.

I remember my other Grandma having bunches of red geraniums on her porch.
Year-round color.

She always comes to mind when I see them. They take me right back to Grandma's house.

Saying our hello's and goodbyes surrounded by the fresh scent and vivid color... and maybe a hornet or two that snuck in, flying overhead with their legs hanging down. Didn't take them long to "come alive" in the warmer weather.
She always kept her fly swatter handy for the remedy.

She also had a big flower garden, my Grandma, right outside her back door with a flagpole that flew the United States Flag.
I loved it!
Sometimes she would cut flowers for us to take home.

Both of my Grandmas had what is called a "green thumb".
Give them some earth and they could just about grow anything.

These are some of the first things to make their presence known around here.
Sedum "Autumn Joy" (left) and Narcissus (right).

Notice the greenery of the Mums beginning to sprout.

Next, come the Iris, Tiger lily, Hosta and 4 o'clocks.

I have found once you have 4 o'clocks you most likely will always have them.
No worries.

I gave the bushes their first trim of the season, and thinned out some of the perennials, saying a small prayer of thanks to God for the ability to work in my own yard.

...having eyes to see, hears to hear, nose to smell, and hands to touch.

And speaking of ears to hear...

as I was winding up the hose I thought I heard the soft sound of newly hatched baby birds. As I silently came closer to the hanging basket it was confirmed.
We have baby birds in our basket!
It is a actually a fake plant (of all things) that I had hung outside last year, it stayed there all winter and now the birds have claimed it. Oh what fun this will be! Oh the joy of life!  It's WONDERFUL!
God and His AMAZING creation.

She is Clothed...

Hello and Welcome!

~ Godly Women ~

"What to Wear?"

Time after time we look into our closets wondering what to wear. So many clothes to choose from! What's the occasion?

Casual, dressy, sporty, relaxing at home, or working in the yard kind of day?

Sometimes the weather helps us decide what clothes to wear.
Now, what shoes? Boots, tennis shoes, sandals, pumps, open or closed-toe, work shoes, flip flops, heels, or flats?

Oh and don't forget the accessories!

So much time and effort spent on how we look.

We all like to look nice wearing appropriate things, but the most perfect outfit will never take the place of the virtue we add to our wardrobe.

An outfit that never goes out of style?
Proverbs 31 speaks of many things.

Strength and Dignity being two.

As women of God let us remember who God wants us to be
and that our true beauty shines from many Godly attributes
which include strength and dignity.

It's right for all occasions.

Proverbs 31, Titus 2, 1 Peter 3:1-6, Revelation 19:7-8

Mary Rose and Me Learn Bible Truths Together - By Heart!

Your word I have treasured in my heart,
That I may not sin against You.

Book 1 - Chapter 6

Mary Rose rolled over in her cozy bed and blinked. Morning. It came just as fast as her mother told her it would. Spying her clothes and shoes that had been laid out the night before, she remembered. Sunday!

“Today I get to say my memory verse in Bible class that I’ve practiced on all week!”

Adding to her excitement she smelled breakfast cooking downstairs. Throwing back the covers and bounding out of bed, she stopped just long enough to grab her memory verse cards.

As they wait for breakfast to be ready to eat, Mary Rose practices her memory verse with her Daddy who is a great encourager!

Mama finds a special container for Mary Rose's memory cards. This isn't just any container and Mary Rose is granted a special privelege that ends effecting someone else.

The Crown

Hello and Welcome!

"Ouch!"

This past week I sat on the floor in my Bible classroom and fashioned a crown of thorns from pliable trimmings from a bush that had long thorns on them.

As I sat there trying my best NOT to get poked, suddenly I was awakened when one of the thorns caught me good in my thumb! It bled. Better be more careful.

Of course, I had been thinking about Jesus and the crown of thorns, but the pain He endured, the blood He shed. It came into my mind how the soldiers mocked Jesus. I wondered if they got poked when they twisted the thorns together. It would serve them right. I pictured them laughing, thinking they were are all so smart and superior. I pictured my Lord Jesus standing there opening not His mouth to speak.

They did not believe He was the Son of God. They "placed" the crown on His head. I pictured the thorns poking into His flesh. How could they? The pain He endured. The blood He shed. For me. For me.

He was not deserving of any of it for He did nothing wrong. He had no sin.
But for us? We all have sinned.

We now have a chance. A chance to be brought back to God through Christ.
To obey the gospel/good news of His death, burial, and resurrection.

Having our sins washed away by being buried into His death by baptism.

To be justified (just as if I never sinned) by His blood, saved by His grace (God's righteousness at Christ's expense/loving-kindness).

To be raised to live a new life unto Him!

To honor our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, walking in the light, repenting of and confessing our sin for the rest of our lives. Looking forward to actually seeing Him, to live with Him. To receive a crown of life!

Mary Rose and Me Learn Bible Truths Together - Traveling

"Permit the children to come to Me;
do not hinder them;
for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.

Book 1 - Chapter 1

They had driven 2 days in the car already and still had not arrived to their new home. Mary Rose wondered how much longer it would take them to finally get to where they were going. Her Daddy had taken a new job and it was difficult for Mary Rose to say goodbye to her friends, her room, and so many things that were so familiar to her.

Once they arrive Mary Rose becomes excited as she sees their new home with an orange door. Mary Rose loves the color orange. Ready to explore she gathers her things and jumps out of the car.

Family and new faces meet them as it is time to unload. Mare Rose learns there are things in her new surroundings for which to be thankful.

On Sunday morning, and as much as Mary Rose wants to go to Bible class, she has to admit she is a little nervous. She thinks of how she will be in a new Bible class with new kids.
"Will there be anyone there her age? Will they be friendly? Will they like her?"

Before driving out of the driveway,  Daddy has a special way of helping them all be a little more comfortable.
